Winter BACK COUNTRY ELOPEMENT - Wanaka

I was super stoked when such a fabulous and talented photographer as Holly Medway (Albany wedding photographer. Servicing WA & NSW) from Australia asked me to be part of her collaborative styled shoot whilst she was here in Wanaka.

She had a fantastic vision about a back-country elopement, showcasing just how amazing and easy an event is to organise is here. A wee trip to the Snow Farm back country huts was chatted about and then the plan was hatched. Also prior to heading up the mountain, Holly and team were quick to get to the best spots around Wanaka and capture them as well. Our delightful and willing models Summer & Jackson made it so easy and genuinely loved it. I almost think it may have been a dress rehearsal for the real thing? ;)

I think anyone wanting to get the iconic snow capped mountains and epic scenery in the background - this shoot showcases how spectacular it can actually look and also how easy it is to plan and execute with a group of well practised and professional vendors.

So sorry if there are a lot of snowy capped mountain pics - but it truly is magnificent and makes for memorable shots.

I was happy to see Summer’s wedding hair and makeup stayed totally intact, after a cross country ski dash to the hut, lake shots with wind, lots of hugs, a fireplace table setting, this facet of your day is really important, for continuity in the pictures.

The flowers were just divine and I think finished off Summers’ look perfectly with her gorgeous apparel.
